Anyway, after a tweet that I wrote this week picked up a lot of steam and sparked some debate from grapplers of all levels, I decided to turn the 5 lessons I learned from training in Austin last weekend into a complete article.

The article that follows is the thoughts leading to how I came to those conclusions and key personal takeaways from my training down there.
Before we dive in, here are some key points to remember:
these 5 points are reflective of the current meta in the professional no-gi Jiu-Jitsu game
these 5 points are by no means all-inclusive assumptions about Jiu-Jitsu
there are exceptions to these 5 points — but not many — and I will mention those I see that they are relevant
